We look forward to seeing you at this historical celebration of Black Ministry in the Lutheran Church. For the misinformed or willfully ignorant it may see as if Black Lutherans are a recent development. Let it be known that people of African descent have been under the influence of Lutheran theology for 150 years. That means we have 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation Black Lutherans in our church body.
You can meet and converse with some of them at our 150th Celebration and we hope to see you in Concord where it all began. We have attached three documents. The "Registration Open" flier in case you want to post it in the church building. We are seeking those with instrumental and vocal music talents to assist in worship, devotions and talent night. Contact Mrs. Shikina Bodley for more information. We are also seeking volunteers to help with our youth ministry. Contact Rev. Amos Gray for more information on that process.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact our President, Rev. Stephen A. Wiggins, Sr. (revsaw4@aol.com).
Come on and get on board for the celebration. It will be well worth the sacrifice.
Sincerely in our Lord Christ,
The Board of the Black Clergy Caucus
The 150th Anniversary Planning Team
